Choice Mission Statement
Our Choice

Choice Martial Arts was founded with the goal of aspiring to make a difference in the martial arts community.
Our mission is to merge the creativity and character of each individual with the traditional aspects of the martial arts.
Through our enthusiasm and devotion to our students, we continually strive towards developing methods of instruction that are unique to the success of each individual and their personal goals, both inside the dojo and in their everyday lives.

Choice Martial Arts was established in June 2001 and offers professional martial arts instruction for men, women, teens and children in Kempo Karate & Grappling, with specialty fitness courses in Cardio-kickboxing & Body Shaping. Headquarters for Choice Martial Arts are located in Everett, Massachusetts. Our goal is to provide quality training that will help guide our students in becoming more positive, productive and balanced individuals in all aspects of their lives by:

* Providing a safe training environment.
* Developing a moral code of conduct.
* Teaching effective "reality" self-defense.
* Offering a friendly, professional staff.

Sensei Cheryl Nadeau
Sensei Cheryl Nadeau is the Senior Instructor of Choice Martial Arts. Sensei Cheryl has been training in the martial arts since 1994 and currently holds the rank of Yondan, 4th degree black belt. Sensei Cheryl took an interest in sport competition while training under Shihan Rocky DiRico back in 1997. She has since then competed in local, national and international tournament circuits which include KRANE, NASKA, World Kenpo/Kempo Federation, ISKA & NAGA. Sensei Cheryl has won numerous State and National Titles in weapons, forms and fighting over the years (see left). She is currently training in the filipino arts, sportfighting, submission grappling & mma.

* October 2004-Inducted into the WMAF Black belt Hall of Fame, Female Martial Artist of the Year

* April 2004-Inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Female Kempo Instructor of the Year

* Sensei Cheryl is the Co-Vice President on the Executive Board of the World Martial Arts Federation.

As a
Reiki Master and in keeping with true Japanese martial arts tradition, Sensei Cheryl is a healing arts practitioner. Reiki refers to Usui Shiki Ryoho translated as: "Usui method of natural healing". This method has been known in Japan since the late 1860's and was brought to the U.S. in the 1930's. Reiki is a gentle, hands-on healing technique used to reduce stress, relieve pain and facilitate healing.

Sensei Cheryl is also a Clinical Hypnotherapist working with individuals and/or groups. Hypnosis is a naturally induced state of relaxation which enables us to receive positive suggestions beneficial for overall health & well being.

Sensei Nathan Porter
Sensei Nathan Porter is the Head Youth Instructor of Choice Martial Arts. Sensei Nathan has been training in kempo since 1998 and currently holds the rank of Nidan,2nd degree black belt. He has cross-trained in various martial arts including wrestling, jujitsu, aikido, taekwondo, judo and the filipino arts. Sensei Nathan is a KRANE State Champion and in July 2003 he won the Bantamweight Division at the ISKA World Submission Grappling Championships which took place on July 13, 2003 in Orlando, Florida.

Sensei Nathan, a former scholastic wrestler, has instructed and coached various wrestling programs. He used that knowledge to help develop the beginner's curriculum of grappling for adults, teens and children at Choice Martial Arts.
